Crown Fire initially started today at 12:26 p.m. at Crown Valley & Soledad Canyon Road, Acton in Los Angeles County, California. By Friday afternoon, it had scorched 280 acres. As of Friday afternoon, the fire crew effectively contained 5% of the wildfire.
Smoke from the blaze is visible across Riverside, Perris and Beaumont.
The brush fire, dubbed the Crown Fire, was first reported around 11:25 a.m. on Soledad Canyon near Crown Valley Road in Acton. UPDATE 11:55 a.m.: The Crown Fire is now at 25 acres and is still being driven by the wind, according to officials. Officials on scene report that the wind-driven fire is at 5 acres, burning uphill.

The fire was reported in the 15900 block of Gilman Springs Road in Riverside County, just before 11 a.m, a spokesperson with the Riverside County Fire Department said. Gusty Santa Ana winds were forecast for much of Southern California on Friday.
